This is my take on mermaid hair. It’s basically the same except instead of witch hazel, use kombucha vinegar or apple cider vinegar. It gives it that been at the beach all day look. I also make a it with a big bottle and use it as a hair rinse in the shower in-between shampoo days.
10 drops Cedarwood EO
10 drops Rosemary EO
10 drops Lavender EO
Kombucha vinegar or ACV
1oz glass spray bottle
step one: carefully add essential oils into glass bottle counting drops as you go.
Step two: fill with vinegar.
Shake before using and spray into hair- wet or dry hair.
Once it dries, you can not smell the vinegar.
The acidic properties of vinegar strips hair of gunky buildup to cleanse your hair. However, apple cider vinegar, and even more so kombucha vinegar, is very mild. This means it will strip it without damaging you hair. In fact, it also works to soften your hair.
Why the oils?
Rosemary oil help to thicken and grow hair.
Ylang Ylang reduces hair breakage.
Cedarwood is great for scalp health
Lavender is great for hair growth and hair + scalp health
Alternatively you could use dried herbs and let them steep in the vinegar for at least 2 weeks. The plant properties will not be as concentrated, but it is nice to connect with actual raw ingredients.
